Depaoli delighted with Samp arrival: “I’m finally here”

It may be six months later than the Blucerchiati would have hoped but Fabio Depaoli is finally a Sampdoria player.

Speaking after his arrival from ChievoVerona, the right back said: “I’m finally here. I was slightly disappointed they didn’t land me in January. But I’m happy and excited to be here now. I can only thank those that have shown such faith in me.

“I spoke to [Emil] Audero and talked very positively about the club and its staff, so that convinced me even more, though I didn’t really need convincing!

At Sampdoria I’m expecting to improve as a player but most of all as a person, also with the arrival of [Eusebio] Di Francesco.

“I’ve always had great experiences at the Marassi. I hope we get as high up the table as possible and play well.”
