Leris raring to go: “I’ll give my all and show what I can do at Sampdoria”

Mehdi Leris has spoken of his excitement after completing a move to Sampdoria on Monday.

“I can’t wait to get started – I’ll give everything I have for this club,” said the Frenchman, speaking to official club media after arriving at Samp. “When my agent told me about the offer to come here I accepted it straight away. This is a big step in my career. Samp is a level up and I want to show what I can do at such a big club.”

Leris already played at Marassi last season with Chievo, having spent time at Juventus during his youth career, linking up with Emil Audero in the process.

“You never forget your first visit to Marassi,” said the midfielder. “I was really impressed by how many fans there were and how they got behind the team. I’ve played against Quagliarella twice and thought it was amazing to play against such great players. Now we play together… it’s amazing.”
