Giampaolo ahead of Monza: “A must-win game”

The league returns this weekend and Sampdoria are preparing to host Monza at the Ferraris on Sunday. Coach Marco Giampaolo is expecting a big performance from his side. The international break gives the Blucerchiati a chance to get off on the right foot for this next phase of the season.

“This is a must-win game. It’s a must-win for us, for the fans and for the atmosphere here. We are up against a side who beat Juventus before the break and they’ll come here with lots of enthusiasm. We’ll have to make use of all our resources to come away with the prize.

“During the break, we’ve worked really hard, as always. Those who stayed here in Bogliasco worked brilliantly and those who have returned from their respective national teams have been in top form. Monza’s new coach has only been in place for three weeks and they’ll be looking to put something new out there compared to the start of the season. We already got a glimpse of that against Juventus. However, the team have prepared as they should for the game and they are ready to give their all.”
